Details

A pulse oximeter is an essential device for monitoring the oxygen saturation in blood (SpO2) and heart rate. The portable, compact, simple to use, reliable and durable monitoring device, handheld pulse oximeter MD300M can greatly aid the patient's treatment process. The device is equipped with numerous features, while remaining convenient and easy to use due to its intuitive user interface. The large built-in display enables an overview of results and average SpO2 and PR values. The charts displayed on the screen are clearly shown and simple to understand. This device is perfect for clinical environments, for use in hospitals and emergency rooms, as well as a fine addition to an intensive care at home.

FAST MEASUREMENT AND READING OF RESULTS

Once the probe sensor has been placed on a finger, it takes only a couple of seconds for the device to read the level of SpO2 and heartrate. The measurement method has been devised through a Lambert-Beer measurement technique of spectrum absorption in reductive hemoglobin (RHb) and oxyhemoglobin (HbO2).

LARGE, CLEAR DISPLAY

The large clear display (2.8") enables an easier and descriptive result reading. The display shows SpO2, heartrate and PI, clearly written with large digits, a graphic bar which depicts the heart rate intensity and an SpO2 measurement chart. Notifications regarding the probe and other alarm notifications are also shown on the display. The interface supports eight different language packs.

  IDEAL FOR HOSPITAL USE

Even though the device is intended for hospitals, it is very easy to use due to its intuitive interface and clear display of results. The device can store up to 127 different patient entries for a period of 72 hours. The readings are stored directly on the device which is equipped with an adult probe by default, but additional probes of different sizes can be ordered.

ALARM FUNCTION

The visual and sound alarm function can be adjusted in the interface by setting the upper and lower threholds, whereas the alarm goes off when the measurement values go over or under the respective thresholds. In addition to the alarm function, the device also has a time delay function, enabling measurement in a period set up in advance, after which the device turns off automatically.

USB DATA TRANSFER TO PC

The data recorded on the device can be transfered to a PC with an USB connection. The device comes with a USB connection cable, an installation CD and a user manual for the data analysis and review sotware.

COMPUTER ANALYSIS AND REVIEW OF DATA

The installation CD with the data analysis and review software comes with the device. The software provides the user with numerous options, such as transfering, analysing, reviewing and printing out data for each patient. The date and time of measurement results is recorded, which enables a better and more detailed review. The program enables the saving of data for further analysis in various file formats.

CLINICALLY CERTIFIED

The device has been made and tested in accordance with ISO14971:2000, EN60601-1-4: 1996 and complies with the EMC electric medical device standard IEC60601-1-2. The device comes calibrated, no further calibration is necessary.

SpO2 and Heartrate measurement

What is SpO2?
SpO2 stands for the saturation of peripheral blood vessels with oxygen, i.e. an oxygen level estimate in blood expressed as a percentage of oxygen-carrying hemoglobin as opposed to the overall amount of hemoglobin in blood. Normal SpO2 readings vary between 85 and 100%. SpO2 is measured with oximetry devices calles pulse oximeters.

What is a heartrate?
The heartrate is defined as a rhythmic expansion and relaxation of peripheral arteries, caused by the transmission of a pressure wave. It is expressed as a number of beats per minute (bmp).

What are pulse oximeters?
Pulse oximeters are devices used for measuring oxygen saturation in blood. In order to measure the level of SpO2, a probe is attached to a patient's finger, which then emmanates infrared and red light through a nail. Hemoglobin rich with oxygen absorbs more infrared light than the hemoglobin without it or with a smaller amount of it. Pulse oximeters are often used in hospitals, expecially in ICUs in cases of breathing failures when the SpO2 level suddenly drops.
